Omnisend alternatives for Shopify and WooCommerce stores
Updated 14 October 2026
Omnisend is a real ecommerce email platform - this is the closest comparison on this site. Any Omnisend alternative worth the name can recover carts; the differences are what counts as a billable contact, what happens when you send a lot, which channels are bundled, and where your data lives. Below: three alternatives side by side, what each one counts and caps, and how to move your list if you decide to.
Where Omnisend is genuinely strong.
Credit where due: Omnisend bundles SMS and web push, and if channel breadth is what you need, that is a real advantage - we do email, deliberately. What we do differently: billing counts only emailable subscribers (Omnisend bills for subscribers and non-subscribers who received automated messages; unsubscribed contacts are not billed), sends are unlimited on every plan (Omnisend Standard allows 12 times your list size per month, Pro is unlimited under fair use), and your data is EU-hosted with GDPR tooling built in. Migration is CSV-based and takes an afternoon; flows are rebuilt, not imported.
Omnisend alternatives compared
Omnisend is a strong ecommerce platform with email, SMS and web push. Stores that compare it usually look at these three. The table sticks to what each vendor publishes on its own pricing page: the free plan, how paid plans are priced, how much you can send, and the one thing a store should know before signing up.
| Tool | Free plan | Paid pricing model | Sending | Note for stores |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| Omnisend | 250 contacts, 500 emails a month, all features | Standard and Pro, priced by list size, billed in USD | Standard: 12x list size per month. Pro: unlimited, fair use | Email, SMS and web push in one plan. Billing includes subscribers and non-subscribers who received automated messages; unsubscribed contacts are not billed. |
| Klaviyo | Up to 250 active profiles, 500 email sends a month, $5 of mobile messages a month; email support for 60 days | Priced by active profiles | Set by plan tier; see Klaviyo pricing for Shopify stores | Email and SMS. Integrates with Shopify and WooCommerce. See switching from Klaviyo. |
| MailerLite | 250 subscribers, 2,500 emails a month | Comfort from $12 a month, Power from $25 a month, priced by active subscribers and sending volume | Comfort: 10x the top of your subscriber tier per month. Power: unlimited, fair use | EU data storage. Shopify and WooCommerce integrations. 14-day premium trial, no card. See switching from MailerLite. |
| MailingPlatform | Up to 100 active subscribers, every feature, no time limit | Flat price by active subscribers: €39 a month up to 3,000, €129 up to 25,000, €299 up to 100,000, €499 unlimited, excl. VAT. All features on every plan | Unlimited platform sends. Delivery runs through your own Amazon SES account, which AWS bills separately | EU-hosted. Native Shopify and WooCommerce apps. Unique discount codes per recipient, created in the store. 14-day trial, no credit card. |
Prices and limits read from each vendor's pricing page on 14 October 2026: omnisend.com/pricing, klaviyo.com/pricing, mailerlite.com/pricing and mailingplatform.net/pricing. Omnisend and Klaviyo paid prices sit in their calculators and are left out on purpose; MailerLite publishes in US dollars. Vendors change tiers without notice, so check the pages before you commit.
How to read the table. All four tools price by the size of your audience, but they count it differently. Omnisend counts subscribers plus any non-subscriber who received an automated message, which matters for stores because checkout and order emails reach people who never signed up for the newsletter. Klaviyo counts active profiles, meaning everyone it can reach by email, SMS or another channel, including people added through checkout or orders without explicit opt-in; unsubscribed and suppressed profiles are not billed. MailerLite counts active subscribers cumulatively within the billing cycle. MailingPlatform counts only active, emailable subscribers; unsubscribed and bounced contacts never count. Sending follows the same pattern: Omnisend Standard and MailerLite Comfort cap sends at a multiple of your list, their top plans are unlimited under fair use, Klaviyo ties send capacity to the plan tier, and here platform sends are unlimited on every plan with delivery through your own Amazon SES account.
The short version: pick Omnisend if bundled SMS and web push matter most to you. If email is the channel that earns your revenue, compare per-contact pricing against a flat rate at your real list size, including the non-subscribers an automation touches; see flat rate email marketing pricing for the math, and Klaviyo vs Mailchimp pricing for the two biggest per-contact platforms.
Pay for subscribers. Not for profiles.
Omnisend's tier is set by billable contacts - subscribers and non-subscribers who received automated messages; unsubscribed contacts are not billed - and Standard allows monthly sends of 12 times your list size. Here you pay for active, emailable subscribers only, and send as much as your strategy calls for. For a store that emails frequently and syncs its full customer base, the difference compounds.
The flat rate works like this: Starter is €39 a month for up to 3,000 active subscribers, Professional €129 for up to 25,000, Scale €299 for up to 100,000 and Unlimited €499, all excl. VAT, and every plan has every feature. Without a subscription you can keep using the platform with up to 100 active subscribers, every feature included, no time limit. Delivery runs through your own Amazon SES account, so AWS bills the volume at its list rate while platform sends stay unlimited.
- Unsubscribed, bounced and suppressed contacts never count toward your bill
- No send caps, no send credits, no overage math
- Unique per-recipient discount codes on Shopify and WooCommerce
- Native store apps: see Shopify email marketing and WooCommerce email marketing
How to switch from Omnisend
Five steps, usually an afternoon. Contacts, properties, tags and subscription status come across in one CSV; automations are rebuilt from the ready-made flows rather than imported. Keep Omnisend running until your flows are live here, then pause them there so nobody gets two emails, and cancel once nothing sends from it. Start the first sends with your most engaged segment and widen over a couple of weeks so the new sending domain warms up properly.
Export
In Omnisend, export your contacts to CSV from the audience page. Properties, tags and subscription status come along.
Import
Our streaming importer handles 100,000+ row files. Properties map to custom fields, tags stay tags, and unsubscribed contacts stay unsubscribed.
Authenticate
Verify your sending domain with guided DNS setup - SPF, DKIM and DMARC checked live. Usually done in under an hour.
Reconnect the store
Connect Shopify or install the WooCommerce plugin. Orders, checkouts, customers and inventory stream in over webhooks from the first minute.
Rebuild flows
Abandoned cart, welcome, back in stock and post purchase ship as ready-made workflows - the same flows you ran in Omnisend, adjusted to your copy.
Fair questions about leaving.
No. This platform does email, deliberately - campaigns, segmentation and store-triggered automations. If bundled SMS is central to your strategy, Omnisend serves that better and you should weigh it honestly.
The core flows are the same category: abandoned cart with live cart contents, welcome series with double opt-in, back in stock from inventory webhooks, post purchase and browse triggers. They ship as ready-made workflows with revenue attribution per email.
Omnisend bills on billable contacts (subscribers and non-subscribers who received automated messages; unsubscribed contacts are not billed) and Standard allows sends of 12 times your list size per month. Here billing counts only active, emailable subscribers, and sends are unlimited on every plan.
An afternoon, typically: CSV export from Omnisend, streaming import (tags, custom fields and unsubscribe status carry over), guided domain authentication, store reconnect, and the ready-made flows turned on. On Scale and up we do it with you.
Stores usually compare Omnisend with Klaviyo, MailerLite and MailingPlatform. The right choice depends on list size, how often you send, whether you need SMS, and whether you prefer per-contact or flat pricing.
MailingPlatform has unlimited sends on every plan, from €39/month excl. VAT up to 3,000 active subscribers; delivery runs through your own Amazon SES account, billed by AWS. Omnisend's Pro plan and MailerLite's Power plan also offer unlimited emails under a fair use policy.
Klaviyo's free plan covers up to 250 active profiles and 500 email sends a month, and MailerLite's free plan covers 250 subscribers and 2,500 emails a month. Omnisend also has a free plan for 250 contacts and 500 emails a month.
Yes. MailingPlatform creates a unique discount code for each recipient directly in your Shopify or WooCommerce store, on every plan.
